2nd TSEKOURAS Prize for Young Economists, 2019

The second Tsekouras Prize for Young Economists was announced in 2019. The Scientific committee was asked to nominate the best papers among the 29 papers presented at the 8th ASECU Youth International Conference and Summer School, organised by the University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria on the occasion of 100th Anniversary of the University.

 

The conference took place in September 15–20, 2019 in Ravda, Bulgaria, under the topic "Sustainable Development Goals 2030: Challenges for South and Eastern European Countries and the Black Sea Region"

 

According the decision of the Scientific committee of the Youth Conference, the nominated papers where the following:

Poverty and Income Inequality in South and Eastern European Countries, by Alexandra JELEA, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi, Iasi Romania

The Development of a New Energy Vehicle Industry in China and Its Reference to the South and Eastern Europe, by Yixuan SHU and Ziying GUO, Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, hanghai, China

Business Ecosystem as the Environment for Platform Companies Functioning, by Milena BALANOVA, Rostov State University of Economics. Rostov-on-Don, Russia

 

The authors of the papers were invited to present their papers at the 16th ASECU International Conference, on the topic Global Social and Economic Challenges and Regional Development,organized by Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (NSUEM) Novosibrisk, Russia on May 21-22, 2020.

 

Α tripartite committee appointed by the Board of ASECU, is asked to evaluate the papers and after their blind review the 2nd TSEKOURAS PRIZE FOR YOUNG ECONOMISTS, 2019 was awarded to the paper
IMPACT OF THE LEVEL OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ON THE GENERATION OF PLASTIC WASTE WITHIN THE EUROPEAN UNION by Violina KIRILOVA, D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics, Svishtov, Bulgaria.
The President of the Board of ASECU, Prof. Grigoris Zarotiadis announced the prize to the awarded author and gave her the respective grant.
