New campaign: “ASECU for the FUTURE” (2026)

In 2025, the Board of Governors of the Association of Economic Universities of South Eastern Europe and Black Sea Region (ASECU) took the decision to launch the “ASECU for the FUTURE” initiative. The initiative consists of organizing national conferences in each country within its broader region of responsibility, focusing on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and national priorities for the future.

The ultimate objective is to compile the proceedings of the individual national conferences into a unified volume and submit it to the United Nations, as part of the discussion regarding the new post-2030 sustainable development strategy. This discussion initiated at the UN Summit of the Future in September 2024 in New York and will continue at the SDG Summit in September 2027 at UN Headquarters.

As part of this ASECU campaign, conferences have already taken place in Skopje, Sofia, and Warsaw, while others are scheduled for the next months in Istanbul and in Bucharest

Correspondingly, the event for Greece will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the “Alkis Argyriadis” Amphitheatre in the Main Building of the University of Athens supported by the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
